A teardown of the Q2 Urban found a brushed permanent magnet motor behind the brand's brushless advertising, deriving 0.6 continuous horsepower against a 2.5 HP peak claim. The BBB file shows a C- rating with complaints accelerating, Trustpilot is a polarized 3.7 across 1,524 reviews, and the factory behind it runs at least six interchangeable Amazon sub-brands. Two of the five models sell only through the brand site or Target, which also strips away Amazon's buyer protection.

Review and complaint pattern
Trustpilot sits at 3.7/5 from 1,524 reviews and is highly polarized: 50% five-star against 28% one-star, the bimodal distribution typical of incentivized positive reviews mixed with genuine negatives. Common one-star themes are shipping delays (3 to 5 days promised, 6+ weeks actual), defective equipment (sparking, belt malfunctions), poor customer service and refund delays. Multiple TikTok videos document refund promises never honored, orders shipped then immediately canceled to avoid refunds, and false color or style advertising. The brand runs a "Consumer Protection" page acknowledging counterfeit websites.
False brushless motor advertising (confirmed 2026-03-25)
A physical teardown of the Q2 Urban revealed a standard brushed PMDC motor (model 75-238, Jiang Yin Aotelai Motor Co., 2-wire connection) despite the brand page claiming a "Whisper-Quiet Brushless Motor" - the same false advertising pattern as the Wellfit TM037. The Q2 Urban Plus shares the same motor. Z10 and Z20 brushless claims remain uncorroborated.
Volume claims
DeerRun claims 1.5M units sold worldwide and 748K+ PitPat app users, but has zero organic Reddit presence, which is unusual for that volume. It sells into the US, Canada, UK, EU, France and Italy, and reports 5 US warehouses.
DeerRun Q2 Urban
DeerRun sells the Q2 Urban as brushless, but a 2026 teardown found a brushed permanent-magnet DC motor worth about 0.6 continuous HP. Target owners rate it 2.8/5, one unit began smoking on day three, and DeerRun has a BBB C- rating and a record of refund complaints. The Amazon listing was gone by September 2026, so DeerRun's own store, at $119 on September 30, 2026, is now the only place to buy it, without Amazon's A-to-Z protection.
DeerRun Q2 Urban Plus
Extended-deck variant of the Q2 Urban with a 39.4x15" belt (+3-4" over standard), same motor (confirmed brushed PMDC via sibling teardown) and 7% incline, 300 lb capacity, $189 brand-only. Identical drivetrain to the Q2 Urban - the extra deck benefits tall users at brisk speeds but isn't meaningful for average-height walkers. No Amazon listing means no A-to-Z return protection.
DeerRun Z10
DeerRun's premium walking pad with 12-level motorized auto incline, 3.0HP brushless motor, 300 lb capacity, 0.6-3.8 MPH, five-layer shock-absorbing belt with honeycomb silicone pads, PitPat app via Bluetooth, and compact 44x21x5.8" design with front transport wheels.
