The brand page explicitly states "Motor: Brush motor". This is the only current WalkingPad model with a brushed motor - siblings Z1, C2, and A1 Pro all use brushless. The P1 is the budget exception, kept at a lower price ($329 vs $499+) specifically because the brushed motor is cheaper.

The stored 4.2/1,540 dates from B0D2ZVB8DJ's pooled era, when that ASIN bundled P1 (brush motor, 220 lbs, 3.75 mph), Z1 (brushless, 242 lbs, 4 mph) and A1 Pro (brushless, 300 lbs) into one review pool. WalkingPad has since split the lineup into per-model listings. The 2026-08-17 record that B0D2ZVB8DJ was delisted is wrong as of 2026-08-26: that listing is live and orderable, and is itself titled as the P1 (a variant under family parent B0HGFPSRPX). Whether its review pool is still merged across models is unknown, so the stored figure remains unverified against any listing sold today - re-harvest before trusting it (ratings.tsv, key walkingpad_p1).
Motor power
Brand page lists 746W input power (= exactly 1 HP), manual confirms 746W at 110-120V. Amazon says 800W. For a brushed motor at ~70-80% efficiency, output would be ~523-597W (0.70-0.80 CHP), but this is speculative. Unlike WalkingPad's brushless models where listed HP = verified continuous, the P1 has no published CHP figure. None is stated here until motor label data confirms one.
Amazon lists "2 Horsepower" but the brand page does not publish an HP figure at all - only "Brush motor" and "Power Input: 746W." The 2 HP is almost certainly peak marketing. Unlike WalkingPad's brushless models (Z1, C2, A1 Pro) where listed HP = verified continuous, the P1 uses a different motor type and no HP verification exists.

DFA for the consolidated ASIN B0D2ZVB8DJ, which is still live and buyable as of 2026-08-26; the value stands as provenance for the pooled era rather than as a claim about today's listing. The P1 itself has been sold since 2019 (Shopify created_at: 2019-04-11). Older ASINs B08TQTP716 and B07SKTB6PS likely have earlier DFAs; B08TQTP716 is no longer listed, while B07SKTB6PS is still listed but out of stock.
